Aerial view looking north toward the Historic Plaza District in Orange, California, ca. 1952. North Glassell Street is shown
on the right side, from the bottom to the top. Sycamore Avenue runs left to right in the lower portion, by the Orange Union
High School playing field, and the campus is above, fronting on North Glassell Street. (The high school was purchased by
Chapman University in 1954) A block farther to the Plaza, the Orange Theatre may be seen as a large white building. The Plaza
is in the upper right, at the junction of Glassell and Chapman Avenue. In the 300 block of East Chapman are the First Christian
Church and the Old City Hall. Looking northeast from the City Hall is the Carnegie library building that once existed as the
Orange Public Library.
