Daggett, Cal. April 6, 1911. Dear Papa:- Another day of wind and sand, but very warm and with plenty of good bright sunshine.
Little Muir is comfortable and full of smiles whenever Buel or I handle him, and the rest of the time he lies in his little
crib and illegible at the post cards on the wall and sucks his thumb. Since be sleeps all night I feel quite like my old self
and am seven gaining a few pounds of my lost weight back again. I have put on three this last week. We havent weighed the
boy this week yet but will soon, but I can notice that he is getting heavier when I lift him. The red geranium cutting you
had sent down, to me last fall are now blooming and rewarding me for all the nursing and care I gave them at first. Our porch
looks quite gay. All the fields are pretty and green with new alfalfa, and the cottonwood trees along the ditch and down the
river are all out in in their summer leaves. The desert flowers are just beginning to bloom, soon they will be lovely. I
wrote to Wanda today and hope to hear from her soon as I havent had a letter from her or Tom since leaving the hospital. Do
you go out for a walk somewhere now even the I am not within walking distance? I hope you do for you need to get out of your
garret at least once a day, even the it is a very nice garret. I miss your daily visit. Lovingly illegible 04991
