Martinez, Oct. 1,/07 Dear Mr. Colby: I was very glad to get the galley proofs or the Hetch Hetchy papers and am doing
all I can with them. Glad McAdie has copy. Send him a lot when they are in pamphlet form. Mr. Keeler is taking hold in good
earnest, and will be sure to give efficient help. I had a fine, hearty letter from Marshall. He is doing all he can for us,
and may go to Washington, and be consulted by the Sec. Secretary . Send him copies. His address is U.S. Geological Survey,Sacramento,
and hadn't we better try to get the Women's Clubs interested? I think they might make a strong fight. Garfield, I see, has
gone off with the President on a lecture tour. I think we'll win. Faithfully, J.M. 03949
