Martinez, May 10, 1912 Dear Sargent, I'm very glad you are so hopefully recovering from your dangerous crushing accident.
I made a lot of pencil sketches of Araucaria brasiliensis, but got no good photographs. I hope to get some however; for several
of the mill workmen in the Parana forests promised to send me as many as I liked as soon as they obtain a supply of films.
I brought home flowers young cones, but none mature as it was in mid October when I was in the woods. perhaps I can get some
of workmen to carefully wire pack a boxful. If successful I'll divide with you. I had a glorious trip both in S. America
Africa notes of which I hope to write soon will send copy. With kindest regards to all the family I am every faithfully
