21 Martinez March 21, 1893. My dear Mr Johnson. I was glad to learn by your letter of the 9th that you had attended to
J.P.s land com. case. I had written to you on the subject before your letter reached me. I saw Mr Olney our Vice President
the other day, a personal friend of Irish found that on the strength of my remonstrance the guess that his recommendation
would be without avail he left it out of his general letter to Sec. Smith. But fearing he had not done so I wrote a counter
letter to the Sec. protesting as President of the S. Club against J.P.s appointment. Caminettis? bill I guess is done for,
at least for this time. As for recession, nothing as far as I can learn has been done the legislature has adjourned. But although
