Martinez, California, March 21, 1897. Dear Sir. I shall be very glad to prepare an article on the Government parks reservations
in accordance with your flattering request, if I can manage it in time to be of use. I am very busy at present writing for
the reserves in the S.F. newspapers, I make slow progress, the fight in the west is very bitter. Beds of lies are growing
up thicker taller than the redwood forests, cutting them down seems an endless task. But I trust we'll win yet. With thanks
for the offer of your pages I am truly Yours John Muir Walter H. Page Esq./ W H P
