have to stay quietly at home for a while. It does seem too bad to have to come down where lowland dust and heat are ruling,
after Martinez, California August 9, 1901. Dear Wanda, This is the rest of Miss Hoffman's letter that I left out in
my haste the other day. It is pleasant to think of her going with you to the University, and I think she will help all she
can. Miss Head is still anxious to keep you in her school another year. I wrote to Mrs. Pitcher to keep the room for you.
