Irrigated Orchards and Reservoir, Fort Collins, Colo. About 5 miles north of Ft. Collins is formed this fruit belt the only
one in the region. It supplies fruit to surrounding country and into other states for several hundred miles. Apples, plums,
grapes and cherries. Surrounding Ft. Collins is this valley of rich soil (lower than the fruit belt) are extensive forms
of sugar beets and alfalfa, large numbers of sheep are fed here on beet pulp and alfalfa. In 1926 one farmer made over $200,000
feeding sheep. Land is high in price.
