May 29 1914 Dear Mr. Muir: Mr. Colby bought me your letter enclosing the check for one hundred dollars. It was most thoughtful
and kind of you to send it, but indeed it is far too much for the little work I have done. I never expected to be paid for
it, for I was as interested that it was a great pleasure. If you wish it to be that way, however, I still owe you work, and
want to finish it. Can't you come and stay with me for a week or two and bring the manuscript? A taxi would bring you to the
