Daggett, Cal. April 30 - 1908 Dear Papa - I received your two good letters and also Charlotte's. Im glad to hear from
her. And it does me good to hear about my old garden at home - to know it is looking so beautiful even tho' Im away. And I
am fortunate about flowers here too, tho' Im living in a desert. Alice Manson sent me a big boxful of red geraniums and beautiful
fragrant carnation from San Bernardino yesterday and my shanty is a-blaze with color. Every time I come in I am greeted with
the carnation's sweetness. The desert was never more beautiful than it is now. I grow to love it more as the days go by, and
am perfectly content. The glorious warm weather continues and I enjoy it so. I hope Wanda will like it here. Good-bye for
today. Your loving Helen. 04168
