Martinez May 9. Bear Mr. Page: Your Sunday letter was a delightful surprise. Come Thursday or any other day that suits
you best. There is a Santa Fe train which leaves San Francisco at 7:30 and arrives at Muir station on the side of our ranch,
at 9:00; and an afternoon train leaves for the City at 4:30. This would give you a little longer day here than you would have
by the Southern Pacific. But perhaps 7:30 is too early an hour for Mrs. Page, although to take the Santa Fe train you would
not have to get up much earlier in the morning, for you can get breakfast on the boat between San Francisco and Point Richmond.
Anyhow we will be delighted to see you, and I am with ' kindest regards to Mrs. Page, Ever faithfully yours, JOHN MUIR
P.S. Please let us know which way you are coming and the day. Letters are too slow.
