1894? Dear Mr. Muir: The 'Mountains' came to us, I suppose because we could not go to the mountains How kind and thoughtful
of you, as ever. We are reading it together, Mother and I, and it simply fascinates us. The music and color of it remind
us of Shelley, while the strength combined make it all your own. Since our return we have wished to see you all so much,
but we are busy teaching and mother, now over eighty, is not so able to do as In years gone by. My eye8 give me the same
old pain. But how are you all? The girls must be grown out of our remembrance. When you and your wife are in the city do bring
them over to see us .Where is your good sister? The years abroad were such happy ones in many ways, but no people are like
our own, or new friends like old ones. As we journey with you through our home mountains we recall Switzerland and her glorious
snowy peaks, and wish we had seen more of the home scenery. Joy is with us with your presence, Faithfully yours, M.
