Original in possession of Mr. Merrill Moores 850 Madison Avenue, New York, April 12, 1912. Dear Merrill, Charles, and
all your great family: You know how I sympathize with you in yourbereavement. The sad news came this morning and stirred
a thousand blessed, dearly cherished memories.- your mother's great kindnesswhen I was in darkness, and her sisters and all
you children when you were young - reading for me, bringing flowers and love into my dark room. Never in all my wanderings
in all these years has anything in the least dimmed the love light of that blessed IndianaMoores-Merrill-Graydon lang syne.
God bless and comfort you. John Muir. RECEIPT FOR REGISTERED ARTICLE Registered at the Post Office Indicated in Postmark
