THE WORLD'S WORK DOUBLE DAY, PAGE X COMPANY-PUBLISHERS 133137 EAST SIXTEENTH STREET,NEW YORK WALTER H.PACE.EDITOR October
14, 1909. My dear Mr. Muir: I observe that you are continuing your pleasant occupation of conducting Presidents of the
United States through the Yosemite Valley. I hope that at such intervals from this labor as you manage to get, you are making
head way with your autobiography, for which we and all the world are waiting eagerly. I hope, too, that Mr. Taft came away
with the feeling that San Francisco must not be allowed to turn any part of the beautiful valley into a water tank. With
my very kindest greetings, Sincerely yours, illegible Rage John Muir. Esq., Martinez, California. 04606
