Original letter returned to Miss Katharine M. Graydon Martinez, Oct. 14, 1913. Dear Miss Graydon: Wanda and I were glad
to get your letter after so long a silence. We are all well, Wanda and her 3 boys, Helen and her 2 boys. Helen1s address is
Mrs. Buel A. Funk, Daggett, California. The five boys are interesting muggins, lively as chipmunks. And just as naturally
the aged are vanishing, and old friends are so sadly missed. I'm glad you enjoy your work. Mine has been sorely interrupted
by months of hard fighting for Hetch Hetchy Valley, Work on an Alaska book was stopped by it. After Alaska I hope to go on
with Autobiography. There will be few or many volumes, as the years allow. Give my love to Mina and your mother and all the
young folk. Ever faithfully your friend, JOHN MUIR Envelope addressed Miss Katharine M. Graydon,303 Downey Avenue, Indianapolis,
