Martinez, June 19,1900 My dear Dr. Merriam I sent the ice M.S. direct to Doubleday Page Co. a week ago thinking you might
be in the field. I also wrote you at the same time. Doubtless you have received my letter ere this and perhaps proof of the
M.S. from the publishers. The article is general and therefore any of the glaciers will answer as illustrations, the more
the better. Harriman Flord should be fully represented. Since forwarding your article I have sent off another on Yosemite
Valley for the Enclyclopedia Britannica Supplement. Now I'm pegging away again on the Parks. Have got rid of Grippe, but need
the wilderness. Come and see me when this side the country. Remember me to your father. Ever yours JOHN MUIR 02703
