Original in possession of Mr. Charles Moores Martines,California Feb.10,1909. Dear Mr. Moores: I heartily thank you
for your Lincoln book, which I shall be glad to read. How did you write so important a book amid business cares? It seems hut
yesterday you were a little boy. How soon those boy days become auld lang syne. Are you not coming to California ere long?
I should be so glad to see you. Remember me to your mother Mina Merrill Katie Graydon and all the clan. I seldom hear from
any of you now. Your letter and book with the loving inscription warms my heart. Faithfully yours dear Charlie. John Muir.
