Martinez July 1. 1902? Mr G W Stewart. Dear Sir, I learned by a telegram received this morning that Doctors Merriam
Gannett? will leave Washington about the 4th go direct to Kings River It is unlikely therefore that we will be in Visalia
before the 11th or 12th. Yrs truly John Muir illegible I will go by Visalia Giant Forest - suppose Gannett? Merriam
will. But of this I am not certain nothing as yet having been said on the subject.
