Glendale Public Library (Glendale, Calif.)
Brand, Leslie, C. (Leslie Coombs), 1859-1925 -- Homes and haunts
Description:
A rear view of the nearly complete Brand Library & Art Center. The unfinished landscaping will be developed into a patio
area and parking. Beyond the addition one can see the exterior North elevation of Brand Library, which is rarely photographed.
The minaret topped towers of El Miradero are visible. The semicircular stair tower abuts the east end of the tower façade.
The stair tower is finished in cement plaster with a crenellated parapet surrounding its flat roof. Three long narrow leaded-glass
windows with exterior metal grills are staggered diagonally around the stair tower. Title from handwritten caption on verso
of photo.
