heard of the great fourth of July celebration which is to be held at Madison and attended by the President and many meb bers
of his cabinet; Some of our folks talk of going and perhaps you may see fit to attend also. You will doubtless have noticed
my slippers and rubbers by this time but I need scarcely say that I am sorry for my care- lessness; as I would hardly be Joanna
if I did not for- get something So you may if you please send them in a letter or along the telegraph line as I shall be sure
to 3 hear them coming and be ready to catch them or any other way which you think pro- per, My plants look very nice and
fresh thus far and I prize them very highly, and think very of- ten of Racine, of the cheerful little office on the corner
and also its cheerful inmates, and I pray that you may be ever thus happy and contented and that God may bless you in all
you do and I hope that you Danl. may long continue to sine His world is not so bad a world etc. and never change it to 'This
world's a wilderness of woe, but I really wish that I could borrow you pen and ink again as this pen partic- ularly is atrocious,
but never mind I have got xxx deleted pretty
