Description:
Depicted from left to right: Edgar Bergen, Dr. Leo L. Stanley, and Dick Dickson, circa 1947. Though the context for this
image is unknown, it might depict a gathering of one of the several trail-riding groups with which Dr. Stanley was affiliated.
The man on the left, Edgar Bergen, was an American actor and ventriloquist, known for performances with his dummy, Charlie
McCarthy. Photograph is from the Dr. Leo L. Stanley Collection. Dr. Stanley was the prison doctor at San Quentin Prison,
1913-1951. He also served on the board of the Marin Municipal Water District; was an author and columnist; served as a ships
