Martinez Dec 16 / 12 Dear Helen Buel, I'm always glad to hear you are all well. The chk for Valona land sold by Mr George
was received today. Be careful in selling land by acre through George as he wants to buy some himself is apt to run down the
price. The Urbick piece just sold, or rather five acres of it he said was not worth 200 or 40 per acre. I suppose you are
attending to taxes. I can't find a jass illegible offshoot likely to grow. But Wanda thinks she has one. The other electric
right of way not yet settled. It's raining this eve. Ever devotedly John Muir
