Daggett, Cal. June 5, 1911. Dear Papa:- We are all well and happy here, especially Muir who is busy kicking and laughing
to himself. He has just had his breakfast, after sleeping all night. He seems to feel the warm weather, as it has been real
summery the last three days, and he cant stand much clothing. Buel thinks it will be best to take his to some cooler place
for a while during the hottest weather. But now he is all right just as long as I keep him dressed right. Every day he goes
out in the hammock and plays with the cottonwood leaves till he goes to sleep there, and I let him lie on our bed out on the
porch most of the day. I keep fine and well myself, only I miss the fruit and salad I have always eaten so much of in hot
weather, for I cant eat anything of that kind while I nurse the baby. Bat I am well repaid by his perfect health and good
nature all the time.I wish you could see his now. I do hope you keep well, and that you are not working too hard. Be careful
of the hot weather in New York. I am glad you are going to take a sea trip soon. Buel had a long letter from Tom a few days
ago and I had one from Wanda yesterday. They said all were well. Tom is picking cherries now, or rather his men are. I think
Wanda expects to come down here on a visit this fall sometime. I must get this in the mall now, so good-bye. Lovingly
