of the Society, to which the public is invited. Our Executive Committee hopes that it may be your pleasure to act as our orator
this year. The subject, of course, would be of your own choosing. The date of the address may also be left to you. Our regular
time has been on the afternoon before commencement; but on that day the audiences have not been large, since many students
and other residents have left Berkeley, and those remaining are busy with many private interests. If you consent to give the
