her the money, as her expenses demand it, and take at the end a note from her, which she will pay as she can; then the money
will be returned to the donors if desired, or left as a fund to help some other poor student in the same way. If she can
do the work in a year, 350 will carry her through, if it takes a year and a half, as is more likely, the sum needed will be
about 500 or 550. As there are left only five members in the Faculty of our school who were here with Prof. Norton, it has
been decided to tell a few of Mr. Norton's nearest friends of the matter, with the thought that perhaps some of them might
like to help along. The teachers will give monthly, and any one else could do the same thing. How much I wish, Mr. Muir,
that circumstances would bring you down here now and then, as in those old days. I don't know how we shall bring it about
unless by engaging your to lecture for the school, giving the rising generation some idea of what a live explorer's experiences
