Town of Buffalo 16th, May 1861. Dear John I received the money wondered you did not get it away before the Bankers meeting
but perhaps it may bring more after a while I have sent you enclosed 10. and as soon as I can I will send you 20 more that
will make up what you said you needed. we are all well Margt. has been here a week She is a little better She commenced a
letter from you a while ago but it is unfinished I hope you are determoned like Paul to know nothing amongst man but Christ
him crucified thus your old man is crucified with him be sure to work the works of Faith repentance let Christ reign within
your heart for ever follow his example though in doing so you may appear to suffer with many illegible are called like as
Paul was but few chosen few believe like as he did obey like as he did but except we have a living working faith like as he
had it will Serve us nothing his a turning from sin never to turn back to it again his was a faith which he kept finished
the work his master Jesus Christ have him to got his crown let us my Dear Son be modern Pauls believing in the evidence of
things not Seen with all our hearts we Shall have a crown also. let me know as Soon as you can that you have got the money
