letterhead Sep. 3 1905 Dear Emily We are all here for Helen's sake. She has been here about six weeks is rapidly recovering.
The pain in her lung is gone she is growing strong brave as ever. She has several times galloped 30 miles or more over the
hot dry desert without fatigue. Wanda too is resting after the terrible strain burdens of the last eventful months so am I
soon I hope to be able to go on with my work - the only cure these mortal hurts. I have not been critically ill or broken
down as reported in the newspapers, only deadly tired exhausted by hard work anxiety sorrow. Remember me to your cousins.
