me a wonderful surprise today from you, and I am going to try to tell you at once how dear it was of you to send it to me.
I don't believe anything hurt worse than to lose our books and ever since the fire I have gone around thinking of this or
that treasured volume that I no longer had. I think one can miss books as much as people, don't you? And now Now I am going
to get some of those that I lost again as well as some that I have always desired, and when I look at my bookshelf I'm going
to say those are from Mr Muir Father has been buying dictionaries, encyclopedias, and standard sets, so the books I buy will
be almost entirely single volumes that I have had before and learned to love, or others that I have long wanted, such as Kenneth
