with you, skimming across the continent would seem only a mere street ride. But I start tomorrow morning for the grand hot
river Ive been waiting so long to see, and alone as usual though plucky loving darling Helen wrote anxiously begging me to
take her husband with me as she couldnt' bear to have me go alone. Of course I couldn't let her sacrifice his own young life
for mine. Got Yosemite book done this illegible though for a month I've been at work by 5. Good by. Remember me to all who

you you Marian will be in the pines with your brother breathing their strength and peace and pure fountain love. I know by
your last letter that you need the mountains. Go I pray you, anywhere in the Sierra sugar pine woods, or a little higher in
the balsam firs. Oh dear how glad I'd be to go
