May 5th, 1903. Dear Mr. Lukens:- I leave for Russia etc. immediately after the President's visit. I greatly enjoyed Mr.
Saapson's visit. He is a rare man anywhere, most of all among Washington officials. It is always pleasant to think of you
planting trees to grow great and do good centuries after we all are gone. Good bye and good luck to you all not forgetting
