Description:
Altar candlesticks (Mission period). Made of wood, plaster, pigment, and
gilt. Both candlesticks are identical in design but x.2000.9a has more damage on the
candleholder. Base is triangular with a smaller triangular piece on top. A stem widens
to join a square block with carved flowers. The block is topped by flaring leaves which
support a beaded disc which holds the candle holder itself. Gold paint is cracked and
completely worn off in many places. Wood is cracked and pieces missing.
