letterhead SEQUOIA, TUOLUMNE, CO., CAL., July 27 1904 Dear Mama We are back at Crockers where it seems very warm after
the snowy higher country but where the trees are very beautiful and the food is very good. In about a week we will be at home
again so I won't try to tell you much about our fine trip till I see you. I suppose Helen Swett got to Muir last night and
that she has told you how much we have enjoyed our five weeks of camping. I wish that I could have stayed up in the mountains
longer, but I'll be glad to be home. I feel well and rested after so many glorious trips and I think my eyes are alright again.
The snow didn't hurt them a bit this year. Helen was rather thin when we got here but it seems to agree with her so well here
that I thought we had better for a few days before starting home across the hot plains. She didn't take any of the hard trips
and seems to be much stronger then when we started 08547
