The Independent FOUNDED IN 1848 130 FULTON STREET NEW YORK EDITORIAL ROOMS Telephone 3928 CORTLANDT Cable Address
INDEFULT NEW YORK August 29, 1910. Prof. William F. Bade, Berkeley, Cal. My dear Professor Bade:- Thank you for
your letter received. I am still hearing comments of your editorial Educational Obscurantism . When you get time be sure
to send us in that prospectus for the series on Sunday Schools. I think I shall not have much difficulty in winding Dr. Ward
to a proper receptive frame of mind. Your article on Pinchot and Hetch Hetchy has turned the Century Club upside down. I
have had any number of people speak to me about it. I think also Dr. Ward handled Bishop McFaul very well. I have forgotten
the name and address of the gentleman on The Bulletin. I think I have destroyed the correspondence. By all means try to get
something from Secretary Dickinson, when he returns. Very truly yours, illegible Managing Editor, H/W 04300
