Description:
This house was built by Wiley Johnson, a member of the “Illinois colony” in 1905. Johnson first built in San Marcos before
the turn of the century on land he and other immigrant from Illinois purchased together. This second house he built only
a quarter of a mile from his first house. The house was later purchased by Dr. Paul Satten and his wife. Dr. Satten was
a retired dentist from Escondido.
