Martinez, Dec. 1, 1895 My dear Mrs Sellers, I'm sorry to hear you are not likely to come our side the continent this year.
Hotel Green is said to be a good shelter though the Raymond is smoke, but Mr Sellers business I fear will be the most insurmountable
difficulty. So Keith I will have to pick out a sketch for you instead of waiting to have you do it yourself. I was in Pasadena
a week or two ago met Mr Rust who showed me many morters, arrowheads, baskets other odds ends of a vanishing race. Also I
saw Prof. Lows collections, his railroad etc I had to lecture to the teachers there, the scholars at the Throop Institute
High School was badly scared. Ill see Keith tomorrow deliver your message. With best wishes for the New Year to yourself
husband Frank I am Yrs John Muir
