Martinez, Feb. 12, 1913 Darling Helen, How are you all The days I hope are as fine as we are having here, warm with but
little morning fog. All are well here, the hills are green, the vineyards yellow with mustard the almond tree by the house
is in bloom. I hope you are all flourishing How is your ranch lawsuit? Are you regaining in your lost flesh? I am. We now
have a better cook. The book is taking far longer time to get into shape so I'm unable to say when I'll get to see you Mrs
Thompson. Write lots of short letters. Kiss the lovely boys for me Love to you all. Devotedly your father
