442 South Pierce St Milwaukee Wis Aug 3 - 1903 Dear Friend John About the middle of June last, I sent you a great long
letter, 8 or 9 pages enclosing New York Draft, for 100 dollars, from C. H. Jay, and endorsed by him. I have not heard anything
from it, and have become some what anxious, to ascertain what became of it. There might be other John Muirs in your town.
The 100.00 is the payment of Jay's part of the indebtedness to you. I have been thinking that you may have been away from
home, engaged on some important work; or seeing that I have written you such a long letter, you regard the answer as something
of a job, and do as I do, pospone for a good convenient time, which seems never to come. That kept me a year from answering
one of your most important letters We are all fairly well I am continuing daily at the drawing board and hope you are enjoying
good health Please drop me a line at least regarding the draft As ever your friend W. H. Trout 03280
