SPINNING AND WEAVING HOUSE - This tiny shop building, located on the grounds of the George Wythe House, is a free exhibition building where the spinning and weaving methods of two centuries ago are demonstrated. In the background can be seen historic Bruton Parish Church. The George Wythe House, with it outbuildings and gardens, is one of the principal exhibition buildings in Williamsburg and typifies the plantation-like town dwelling of the colonial period. Wythe, law tutor of Jefferson, was the first Virginia signer of the Declaration of Independence and the first professor of law in an American college. Williamsburg, Virginia.
