sailing. I hope you are in the peaceful mountains with Marian. I expect to start up the river to Manaus in a day or two.
I think I may be a month on the great stream before I go south. Will hope to get a letter. Lots of lonely work ahead but all
of it lovely. I'll tell you about those glorious woods when I get back. Remember to all who love you. Heaven give you peace

at last is The River. Arrived yesterday eve after a pleasant voyage, a long sublime slide to the equator between beautiful
water and beautiful sky. Approaching Para had a glorious view of fifty miles or so of the forest on the right bank of the
river. This alone is noble compensation for my long desired and waited for Amazon journey even should I see no more. I looked
for another letter from you before
