Bar, Raleigh Tavern - The bar of the Raleigh was a favorite gathering place where bargains were sealed and history was made. The tavern has been rebuilt upon the original foundations and authentically furnished after the inventories of its original keepers. Henry Wetherburn, the first known keeper of the tavern, was so famous for his arrack punch that a deed records that William Randolph of Tuckahoe sold two hundred acres of land in Goochland County to Peter Jefferson, father of Thomas Jefferson, in consideration of "Henry Wetherburn's biggest bowl of Arrack punch."
