Martinez, Jan 20, 1913 Dear Helen: How how have you family got through this cold wet grippy weather? We are well hear
glad of the blessed rain. The mud was frozen hard this morning Hope no further damage is done to the orange groves. Mr Morgan
was here this morning about a sewer? on the Fraser tract. He said all had signed petition except you one other who was absent
but sent word he was in favor of the work would sign when he returned. Did you receive the paper Mr Morgan sent? I dont know
any reason why you shouldn't sign. Write quick darling tell you are well Your devoted father John Muir
