Description:
The Free Church organized a prayer meeting in front of the San Francisco Federal Building. The flyer requested that those
attending should "bring symbols of this oppression to be cleansed as we demonstrate our unity." During the vigil, two women
poured red die into fountains and onto the sidewalks and buildings. While they were being taken into custody and brought into
the courthouse, York stood in their way and was also arrested. Along with York, Bishop Michael Itkin, the gay religious activist
later to be canonized in Moorish Orthodox Church in America as Saint Mikhael of California, was also arrested for disorderly
conduct.
