PUBLIC LIBRARY SACRAMENTO CALIFORNIA LIBRARY ASSOCIATION Sacramento, March 20 1911 Mr John Muir, Martinez, California
Dear sir:- It is the desire of the California Library Association that you favor them with an address, on some topic chosen
by yourself, Californian in nature if possible, at a joint meeting to held by this association and the American Library Association
in Pasadena on the afternoon of May 20, next. Our Eastern friends have mentioned you as one of those they particularly want
to hear, and we earnestly second their wish. Other speakers whom we hope to secure are Gov. Johnson, Luther Burbank, and
Lincoln Steffens, and with you also, we think that we can present a California programme of some note. If you can favor us,
I should be glad to have you indicate the honorarium that will be acceptable, in addition to your expenses. Trusting that
I may have an early and favorable reply, I am, yours very truly illegible President, C. L. A. 04981
