letterhead Sep. 4, 1905 Dear Mrs Bidwell: We all thank you most sincerely for your good samaritan letter so full of
loving kindness for our loneliness. Helen I'm glad to say is much better, with her sister Wanda is now able to take long 30
mile horseback rides over the hot desert here without fatigue. I too am resting hope soon to take up my work again. It is
not true as far as I know that I have been critically ill as reported in the newspapers - only deadly stunningly tired. Sometime
I'll tell you all the sad story. In the meantime I can only thank you with best wishes kindest regards to your sister Mr alexander
I am ever Faithfully Yours John Muir
