[written above date] Stanton Gen'l Hospital Washington D.C. A beautiful day feel very well. at work as usual all day in the office. no news from any source. President Lincoln left this City for Annapolis, from [illegible] city. Point transfer with the Rebel [Communions]. Feel quite anxious about my dear Friend [illegible]. War news very good but quite meager. at Work until nearly 12 o'clock p.m. Friday - for the truth be strong; Own your fault, if in the wrong; Put a bridle on your tongue. -------------------------------- Friday, February 3. A beautiful day, feel very well. At work as usual all day in the office. No news from any source. President Lincoln left this city for Annapolis, from there to City Point to confer with the rebel commissioners. Feel quite anxious about my dear friend Judith.
