Transcription: [written above date] Stanton Gen'l Hospital Washington D.C. Another disagreeable day but not quiet as rainy as yesterday. At work setting out my cases. Set out seven today in the afternoon having nothing to do I and my friends Mrs. Alex Johnssen went to the Capital heard a very spritiual debate on the National Banking system. In the evenin recieved a letter from my friend Mrs Clara Clarke. Also wrote two letters, one to my betrothed and another to Mrs. Helen m. Sweet. Feel very well. --------------------------------- Thursday, February 16. Another disagreeable day but not quite as rainy as yesterday. At work setting out my cases, set out seventy today, in the afternoon having nothing to do, I and my friend, C.W.Johnson went to the Capitol, heard a very spirited debate on the national banking system. In the evening received a letter from my friend Miss Clara Clarke, also wrote two letters, one to my betrothed and another to Miss Helen M. Sweet. Feel very well.
