Transcription: A beautiful day, feel gay and happy, free and busy. At work printing paper and evelopes for [illegible] in Chap and 480 monthly reports no letter received or written received a good well packed [illegible] of [illegible] bandages and rags for the usual the wounded in this hospital from te young soldiers of [...] kiss county-W.M. wrote a letter to Aunt Mercy. Surrender of [illegible] Army to Sherman, the war virtually over. Hurrah for [illegible]. ----------------------------- Friday, April 28. A beautiful day, feel gay and happy, free and easy. At work printing paper and envelopes for surg. in charge and 480 monthly reports. No letter received or written, received a good will packet box of lint bandages and rags for the use of the wounded in the hospital from the young ladies of Tomkins County NY. Wrote letter to Aunt Mercy. Surrender of Johnston’s army to Sherman. The war virtually over. Hurrah for Home!
