(In response to a Christmas message.) Martinez, Jan. 1, 1914. Dear Mr. Gleason: With all my heart I wish you a happy
New Year, and congratulate you and Mrs. Gleason on the good work you have accomplished in the one just closed. As you say,
the long-drawn-out battles we have fought for the people's parks are not lost. The conscience of the whole country has been
aroused, and compensating good for the Hetch Hetchy sin must surely come. And now for new work for the New Year. Good luck
