letterhead Sept. 16 1913 My very Dear Muir, What a long time since seeing or hearing from you. I can't stand it any
longer so write in hopes to hear from you. I am much pleased that our Board of Education have named one of our schools for
John Muir. Seldom is such an honor conferred upon a live man they just wait until he has passed on so he could not object
if he would or glory in the honor. I am so pleased because I know it will be an inspiration to the children, just as it is
always an inspiration to me, to have in front of me a large picture of you and on my left a plaster of Paris cast. I can at
any time talk our trip over, and recall many grand thing you have said as well as a few good jokes. 05547
