Oliver Snyder Steel Company, MINING SUPERINTENDENTS OFFICE OLIVER FAYETTE CO., PA. FRED. C. KEIGHLEY. GEN'L SUPT. PITTSBURG
OFFICE. So. 10TH AND MURIEL STS. Lock Drawer R, Uniontown, Pa., March 19, 1906. Mr. John Muir, Botanist Geologist,
Adamana, Arizona. My dear Sir: After some six weeks traveling through the West I finally reached home. I regret very much
to have to inform you that the number of the Century Magazine which you so kindly loaned me while at Admana was stolen from
my room at the El Tovar, Grand Canon. I was very much put out about this and tried in every way to have the matter straightened
out. I lost some other things with the magazine but I did not care so much for that and I so informed the hotel people; I
told them if possible I wanted the magazine returned to me. I have had two letters from these people saying that they had
put on a detective and failed to get any trace of the missing articles. I will try to get you another copy if you will please
give me the month and year. Relative to the fossils which I am to send you, wish to say that since I returned home I have
been very busy and have had no chance to get them. The fossils I spoke of are found at two places, namely, Preston County,
West Virginia and Trumbull County, Ohio, at both of which places I have been interested in mining property. The first time
I go to either one of these places I will try to get the fossils and forward them to you by freight. 05705
